Querétaro’s international schools tend to be smaller than the large metros but offer a clear mix of bilingual and international curricula - most commonly International Baccalaureate programmes and American-style or bilingual models taught in English and Spanish, with a few schools adding French, German or other languages. Annual family costs vary widely but typically fall in the mid-range for Mexican international schools, with lower fees in early years and higher fees for secondary; expect one-time registration and ancillary charges (transport, meals, textbooks and exams) on top of tuition. Schools normally follow the Mexican academic calendar (term starts in late August or September) and run formal admissions cycles in the months before the next school year, although some accept rolling applications for mid-year starts. For relocating families it helps to prioritise proximity to your neighbourhood (Juriquilla and other suburban developments are common expat hubs), Spanish support for newcomers, and whether the school’s secondary credential is recognised by universities you plan to target.
