Moderate-level SEN support in Netherlands

21 international schools in Netherlands offer moderate-level support for children with special educational needs (SEN) - a dedicated learning-support offer, with staff whose job it is. doris rates two kinds of support — learning support and behaviour support — from Basic to Specialist.

What the levels mean

doris rates learning support and behaviour support separately, each on this five-point scale. A school is grouped by whichever of the two is higher, so it appears on one level page only.

FAQs

SEN at international schools — your questions

How many international schools in Netherlands offer moderate-level SEN support?+

21 international schools in Netherlands are rated 'Moderate' on doris - a dedicated learning-support offer, with staff whose job it is. A school is grouped by the higher of its two ratings, learning support and behaviour support, so it appears on one level page only.

What does 'Moderate' mean?+

doris rates SEN provision on a five-point scale: None, Basic, Moderate, Advanced and Specialist. 'Moderate' means a dedicated learning-support offer, with staff whose job it is. Schools rated Specialist and Advanced go further still.

Why are learning support and behaviour support rated separately?+

Because a school can be strong on one and light on the other. Learning support covers day-to-day academic help - dyslexia, dyscalculia, a learning-support unit. Behaviour support covers social, emotional and behavioural needs, including pastoral and specialist staff. Both levels are shown on every school on this page.

Does a moderate rating mean the school is right for my child?+

Not on its own. The right school depends on your child's specific needs, the fit with staff, class sizes and the exact provision on offer. Use this page to build a shortlist, then talk to each school's SEN coordinator (SENCO). doris is impartial and takes no placement fees.
